Six Mexican workers killed in Idaho crash

Six Mexicans died early Saturday morning after car crashed into truck in which they traveled workers farms in Idaho Falls, Ohio.

Besides, nine were injured the incident was reported to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The agency clarified that seven people remain in the hospital, but their condition is stable, two have been discharged.

The Foreign Ministry also indicated that after the Mexican Consulate in Boise contacted Idaho authorities to establish the citizenship and identity of the people, it was confirmed that all of them were from Mexican citizenship, H2A visa holders.

He added that the consulate has contacted Sigmet Farms Services, a company responsible for hiring Mexican workers as well as lawyers, to give advice and support.

“State authorities have been notified of the incident and will coordinate any steps that may be necessary.”

SRE said the consular office will monitor the transportation of the deceased to their places of origin in Mexico, as well as the investigation by Idaho State Police and labor authorities.

He added that he would review legal and diplomatic tools to ensure full respect and protection of the human and labor rights of his countrymen.

“Strive to strengthen the legal framework governing their living and working conditions so that incidents of this nature are fully investigated and appropriate responsibilities and punishments are imposed.”

Finally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed regret over the death of six Mexicans and expressed condolences to the families of the victims, providing them with the necessary consular assistance and protection.

Three Mexicans in critical condition after crash in Florida
