Ukrainian seaplane Sea Baby was equipped with 122 mm “Grad” systems, converting them into naval MLRS. The system was tested in the winter, and after the use of these drones in Russia was recorded, the system was announced to the public. The video shot in the Kinburn Spit area shows how this system works.

The guides themselves, six in length (three per board) probably shorter than the original ones, are fixed at a fixed angle. This means Sea Baby must navigate to a pre-marked point, clearly following the route.

We should also point out that the elevation angle of the guides is limited, so the flight range of unguided rockets will not be a maximum of 20.4 km for the BM-21 Grad.

This limitation is due to the fact that there are problems arising from the difficulty of aiming with shorter guides, as well as the inherent specificity of firing from naval platforms – yaw, which greatly affects the accuracy of firing on small ships.

Therefore, Sea Baby’s main target with jets can be field and fixed targets. It could be interesting to use such drones to attack oil transfer terminals in the port and the port infrastructure in general.
