It took the company 13 years to produce 200,000 pickups, and another 100,000 rolled off the assembly line within two years. One reason for the rapid sales growth is that JAC currently exports pickup trucks to 132 countries.
Feng Liangsen, JAC board secretary and the company’s CEO, said at the ceremony: “These 300,000 units are not only the result of JAC’s independent work, transformation and modernization, and global development, but also the result of JAC’s hard work and joint efforts. This , is another important achievement in the globalization of Chinese turntables.”
JAC sells three pickup models: T6, T8 Pro and T9. T9, known as Hunter (Hantu) in China, became the 300,000th. It rolled off the assembly line in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, on May 21. Last year JAC sold 55,000 pickup trucks, of which around 42,000 were exported. Markets include Latin America, Gulf, Central Asia, Europe and Australia. JAC ranked first among Chinese pick-up brands in Mexico, Peru and Kazakhstan.
While international sales increased by 9.9% on an annual basis, domestic sales increased by 16.3%. JAC claims to be number two in the Chinese pickup truck industry.
