As expected, this redesign made its way first to the Pixel and then to some Samsung Galaxy phones. Now it looks like it’s finally started expand to more Android phones from other manufacturers, even down to an older model with Android 11. Of course, the frog is in the foreground.

One of the main changes to the new Google Weather, beyond the Material You design, is that instead of three tabs (today, tomorrow, and 10 days) a single episode with a carousel where we can look at the weather forecast for the next 24 hours.

Also, the location search box is pill-shaped and current forecast Parameters such as wind speed, humidity, atmospheric pressure or UV index appear. All on cards with rounded corners. From their perspective, the pictures change as follows: The famous little frog, in panoramic format and slightly smaller, appears on new backgrounds.

The new Google Time was first available on Pixel phones and soon on some Samsung phones. Now, according to 9to5Google, the redesign is coming to more phones from various manufacturers. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, OnePlus Open or Honor Magic 6 RSR are some examples, but there are also those who have already received this on Nokia 4.2 with Android 11.

Distribution takes place in: server side, so you may have to wait for Google to expand this feature to more phones. To check if the new Google Weather design is already available on your Android mobile phone, do the following:

  • Open Discover on your mobile phone by swiping up to the home screen.
  • Click “G” on the widget or open the browser and search for weather.
  • When the weather information for your location appears, click on it; It will take you to Google Weather.

Remember this by pressing the three menu dots and tapping on “.Add to home screen“, you can get direct access to Google Weather, almost like an app. If the new design has arrived on your phone and you are not convinced, you can always save the old one with the Frog Weather app, which is available for free on Google Play.
