With the launch of the POCO Pad, finally the subsidiary of Xiaomi (although remember that it became an independent brand at the beginning of this decade) removes the thorn that stuck in it for a long time since, as surprising as it may seem, until now it was never launched to this market in the six years of its existence. And as we shall see a little later, they seem to have landed there with the proposal that seems to be the most balanced.

Of course, before you start analyzing it, remember that unfortunately, POCO Pad is currently not available in the Spanish market. We don’t know if the company plans to bring it to our country (and we hope so, because given its specifications it seems like a good proposal), but below we see what it offers us and we await the said debut. it will eventually happen.

We start the review of the first POCO tablet with its face, i.e. the screen. We find a 12.1 inch LCD panel with a resolution of 2.5K, which is divided into 2560 x 1600 pixels in a 16:10 aspect ratio and with a density of 249 dots per inch. It has an adaptive refresh rate that can scale up to 120 hertz (30/48/50/60/90/120 Hz) and its maximum brightness is 600 nits, it is Dolby Vision certified, as well as three TÜV Rheinland certifications (Low Blue Light, Flicker Free and Circadian Friendly) and for its protection, it uses Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Already inside, we can see that the POCO Pad controls a SoC Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, Qualcomm’s mid-range integrated device introduced last year and which we’ve already seen debut in many smartphones in this market segment. It is accompanied 8 gigabytes of LPDDR4x RAM and 256 gigabytes of UFS 2.2 storageexpandable up to 1.5 terabytes, which is more than enough for the use most users give to tablets.

We can find it in the connectivity section Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 And when it comes to cable connections, there’s some good news and some not-so-good news. The first is that users of wired headphones will be able to use them with the POCO Pad because it has a connector minijack for this purpose. The second is that surprisingly it stays on USB 2.0, which translates into restrictions on the transfer of large assets. We will also charge its generous battery through this port, so 10,000 milliamps and supports 33-watt fast charging.

The photographic part of the POCO Pad is perhaps one of the weakest aspects of the brand’s first tablet, to the extent that it is not even reviewed on the main page. However, and given that we are talking about a tablet and not a smartphone, I think it is sufficient for the general needs of this type of device. Both for main and front POCO opted for a 1/4″ sensor with a resolution of 8 megapixels, which means a spot size of 1.12 μm. The only difference between the two is that the main has a number F/2, while the one on the front is F/2.28.

The POCO Pad tablet is available for certain markets (currently not ours) on its website and is priced in those markets at 374.70 euros.
