Apple released a new firmware update for versions AirPods Pro 2 Lightning and USB-C. The new firmware version is 6F7 compared to the 6B34 firmware released in November. Apple hasn’t detailed what features might be included in the updated firmware other than “bug fixes and other improvements,” so it’s unclear what’s new in the update.
Apple doesn’t instruct customers on how to update AirPods software, but the firmware is typically installed over-the-air when:AirPods connected to an iOS device. Put the AirPods in the case, connect the AirPods to a power source, and then connect the AirPods. It should force the update on your iOS device or Mac.
You can check your firmware AirPodsby performing the following actions:
- Connect your AirPods Pro to your iOS device.
- Open the Settings app.
- Click General.
- Click About.
- Tap AirPods.
- Look at the number next to “Firmware Version.”
