In its keynote at WWDC 2022, Apple talked a lot about how iOS 16 makes gameplay better thanks to the new Metal API and updated Game Center. But most people missed one thing: The new operating system now supports more game controllers like Nintendo’s Joy-Cons and Pro Controller.
This was discovered by Riley Testut, the developer of Delta and AltStore, and you can finally combine Nintendo Switch joysticks with iPhone and iPad and possibly Mac and Apple TV. All you have to do is make sure you have the latest beta software installed on your devices.

Testut was able to play games with Joy-Cons and Pro controller on iOS 16. However, other controllers turned out to work as well, which means that if you want to use a controller of your choice, it will likely work just fine. .
The best part about iOS 16, which supports more controllers, is that it treats both Joy-Cons as one, but you can also connect them separately if you want. Once connected, the controllers can be configured in the Bluetooth settings.
It’s undeniable that iOS 16 offers many new features, including an all-new and redesigned lock screen with widgets, as well as improvements for a wide variety of system apps. Developers can now download the first beta of iOS 16 here. A public beta test will take place next month, and an official release is expected this fall.
