ZOTAC ZONE is a new handheld gaming machine that the Taiwanese company will present at Computex 2024. Its specifications have been leaked before the official presentation, and we can already expect it to be close in design and features to what we saw in the ASUS ROG Ally .

Several manufacturers will expand their line of portable consoles using the Taiwan trade show. ADATA, ZOTAC and others have been rumored to expand offerings in a segment that seemed impossible to re-emerge just a few years ago, when smartphones obliterated Sony’s PS Vita and decimated Nintendo 3DS sales.

But here we are with a dozen great machines for those who – like us – think that for mobile gaming there’s nothing that compares (no matter how good the mobile is) to a dedicated machine.

ZOTAC ZONE, similar to ROG Ally

Zotac is well known for its portfolio of compact computers and other consumer electronics products, including gaming-oriented VR backpacks. They didn’t work like any others that have come to market, but here we are looking at a very different device.

According to the spec sheet obtained by Videocard, it is a handheld device with 7-inch multi-touch AMOLED displaynative resolution of 1080p, refresh rate of 120 Hz and maximum brightness of 800 nits.

Very similar to the ASUS Ally, including its internal AMD hardware. Compared to the Ryzen Extreme for gaming, however, we see the APU here Ryzen 7 8840U with Radeon 780M graphics. It is complemented by 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD for storage.

Its 48Wh battery will provide just over an hour of autonomy.
