As expected, the PC version of Santa Monica Studio’s Scandinavian action game God of War Ragnarok was announced as part of the State of Play presentation in May. Sony confirmed the port’s release date and main features. The PC version of God of War Ragnarok will be released on Steam and Epic Game Store on September 19 this year. The release date was announced in the minute and a half gameplay trailer added below.
God of War Ragnarok on PC costs $60 for the standard edition and $70 for the advanced edition (this includes early access to in-game items, a mini art book, and the soundtrack). The game is not available in Russia. On PC, they promise Nvidia DLSS 3.7, AMD FSR 3.1, Intel XeSS 3.1, ultra-wide monitors (21:9, 32:9) and 4K resolution, as well as unlocked frame rate support.
Unlike Ghost of Tsushima, God of War Ragnarok on PC will require a PlayStation Network account: besides Russia, the game is not available in the other 180 countries where you cannot officially create a PlayStation account.
According to the plot, Spartan Kratos and his son Atreus must visit all of the Nine Worlds of Norse mythology on the eve of Ragnarok. The PC version includes the Valhalla story expansion and New Game+ mode.
God of War Ragnarok launched on PS4 and PS5 on November 9, 2022, receiving high reviews (94% on Metacritic) and selling over 15 million copies. Jetpack Interactive studio helps port the game to PC.
