Acer introduces new TravelMate series devices as well as new Aspire C desktops and Chromebooks specifically for businesses.

Acer is expanding its business lineup with several new laptops, desktops and Chromebooks. The biggest new addition is in the TravelMate range, where Acer is living up to its marketing commitments and announcing AI branding. This already gives away that there are Intel Core Ultra chips under the hood. They have an NPU on board that can accelerate (currently largely nonexistent) workloads, but the additional processing power of this generation is very modest.

TravelMate P6 and P4

First and foremost, we see an Acer TravelMate P6 14. This is a 14-inch device with an OLED display (2880 x 1,800 pixels, 16:10), optionally equipped with touch functionality. The laptop can be configured with chips from the Intel Core Ultra 7 series and has a maximum of 32 GB of LPDDR5 memory on board. Acer points out the Thunderbolt 4 ports and WiFi 7.

Going one step further, Acer is launching the TravelMate P4 series. It consists of a P4 Spin 14 with a foldable 14-inch screen, a regular P4 14 and a larger P4 16 with a 16-inch display. The Spin 14 and the P4 16 have Intel Core Ultra processors on board, while the regular Acer TravelMate P4 14 has chips from the AMD Ryzen Pro 8040 series.

Aspire C

In the desktop sector, Acer is introducing its Aspire C desktops. These are all-in-one computers with a laptop chip on board, again in the form of an Intel Core Ultra processor. These Ultra chips with their NPUs allow Acer to talk about AI acceleration again, but as I said, you shouldn’t make too much of it.

We see an Acer Aspire C24 and a C27, with corresponding screen diagonals. Acer relies on classic FHD IPS panels. The Intel Core Ultra 7 155U is always the service chip and you can configure up to a maximum of 32 GB RAM.

Chromebook Plus Enterprise

Finally, Acer is introducing new Chromebooks tailored to corporate environments. Two new devices are being launched: the Chromebook Plus Enterprise 515 with a 15.6-inch screen and the Chromebook Plus Enterprise Spin 514 with a foldable touchscreen. The Spin is also available to consumers.

Acer uses chips from the Intel Core series for both devices, with a maximum of an Intel Core 7 CPU. This is where things get a little confusing: Core is not the same as Core Ultra, and is architecturally a generation older. The regular Core chips are now relatively lightweight in the Intel range.

Price and availability

Acer announces the expected availability and recommended prices of all devices in the Benelux countries. All prices include VAT. Only the Acer TravelMate P4 14 with AMD chip is still unclear as to whether, when and for how much it will come to our region.
