“She passed away peacefully this morning, and now none of us know exactly how we can move forward without her,” reads a message signed by Obama on the website. Middle.
Michelle Obama said the same thing about her mother:
“My mother Marian Robinson was my rock, she was always there for everything I needed. “He was a constant support to our entire family and we are heartbroken to learn that he passed away today.”

Robinson became friends with the White House doormen and butlers.
Robinson moved into the White House during Barack Obama’s two terms (2009-2017) to help raise his youngest granddaughters Malia and Sasha and provided “unconditional support” for the presidential family.
“The only guest who asked to meet was the Pope. Over these eight years, she became friends with the doormen and butlers, with the people who made the White House a home,” people close to her recall in the note.

The statement was signed by her two children, Michelle and Craig, their partners and children, who describe Robinson as a simple, reserved woman devoted to her loved ones.
Robinson was born on the South Side of Chicago in 1937 and worked as a secretary. She married Craig Robinson, a local official, with whom she lived her life until his death in 1991 from multiple sclerosis.
As a young woman, she studied to be a teacher before working as a secretary.
