MSI has unveiled its new motherboards for those looking to get the most out of the new Ryzen 9000 processors that AMD unveiled at Computex.
It’s about the models MSI MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI and PRO X870-P WIFIcompatible with the processors they use Socket AM5 and chipset X870. All new MSI motherboards with this chipset feature Lightning PCIe Gen 5.0 and M.2 slots to maximize the bandwidth potential of the components. In connectivity, they release the connector for the latest version of the peripheral standard, USB4, with a bandwidth of up to 40 GB/s.
The new boards introduce features expected by users that should make handling components easier. it’s about “EZ PCIe Release” and “EZ PCIe Clip II”. The EZ PCIe version allows users to effortlessly remove graphics cards installed in the main PCIe Gen 5.0 slot, while the updated EZ PCIe Clip II features an improved latching mechanism for easier removal and installation.
And the enormous size and weight of high-end dedicated graphics cards is a problem and can overload the motherboard. To solve this problem, MSI has improved all of its motherboards three additional anchor points and thicker material used for slots. The manufacturer states that this modification allows the PCIe slot to be 121% stronger compared to the previous generation.
Another new feature also focuses on the component installer, in this case SSDs. The second generation EZ M.2 Clip II thus aims to make installing and removing M.2 SSD drives easier than ever before. With the new screwless design, removal is easy by simply pressing the side latch to fully open the screwless Frozr M.2 mechanism. Installation is just as easy: a simple push locks the M.2 SSD into place, while removal only requires a gentle pull to the left.
The connectivity It’s another focal point of any motherboard upgrade, and for its new generation, MSI has updated the Wi-Fi antenna module with a quick-release mechanism, making it easy to install on any computer. The new boards are of course equipped with the latest standards, 5G LAN, Wi-Fi 7 and the latest generation of Bluetooth 5.4 technology.
No price or availability has been announced for these boards, which, like those from GIGABYTE or those ASUS will be showing at Computex, will be the pioneers in building desktop towers with AMD’s most advanced processors.
