Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that details of the iPhone’s smart photo editing feature using generative artificial intelligence coming to iOS 18 have emerged.
Apple has developed a new object removal function where generative AI recognizes an unwanted object, removes it, and fills the space with generated content that matches its surroundings. The system works on the same principle as Google Pixel, Samsung Galaxy and Huawei smartphones.
Apple has developed an “in-house program” called Generative Playground that allows users to take advantage of the aforementioned AI-powered photo editing feature. This feature can be integrated into iMessage for easy content sharing. It is also reported that iOS 18 will allow you to create personalized expressions.
iOS 18 will also offer the ability to automatically generate replies that will take into account factors such as names, calendar events, locations, times, and more. Siri is also under development.
The Notes app will receive a major update with generative AI capabilities for speech-to-text and information summarization in iOS 18 and macOS 15. Users will be able to record audio directly from the notes app, convert it to text, and summarize the information. Details will be announced at WWDC, which will take place June 10-14.
