AMD presented two new Ryzen 5000XT processors at Computex 2024 keeping the AM4 socket alive eight years after its launch.

The Californian company presented two new processor platforms, the Ryzen 9000 for desktops and the Ryzen AI 300 for notebooks, at the Taiwan trade fair. These great news covered other launches like the one at hand, two new processors for the AM4 socket, which AMD says is still alive.

The new Ryzen 5000XT

AMD will launch two new models:

• Ryzen 9 5900XT with 16 cores and 32 threads, operating frequencies up to 4.8 GHz, 72 MB cache and TDP consumption of 105 W.
• Ryzen 7 5800XT with 8 cores and 16 threads, working frequencies of 4.8 GHz, 36 MB cache and the same TDP of 105 W.

To add context, the Ryzen 9 5900XT should deliver performance close to the Ryzen 9 5950X, but at a significantly lower price. AMD pits it directly against the Intel Core i7-13700K.

For its part, the 5800XT will be comparable to the Core i5-13600KF in games, always according to AMD data.

Both CPUs come with AMD’s famous Wraith Prism RGB air fan, capable of handling the cooling of CPUs with a TDP of up to 140 watts. Prices are competitive, $360 and $260, respectively They will be available on the international channel in July 2024.
