Well-known mobile device testing platform AnTuTu has entered the electric vehicle (EV) market with a new testing program. The app objectively evaluates the performance of the car’s infotainment system by testing the chipset, RAM, and storage.
AnTuTu also published the results of the top ten cars tested in May 2024. Currently, the top three places are Zeekr 007 with 1.07 million points, Xpeng X9 with 965631 points and Mercedes EQE with 963130 points.
In the list, Xpeng P7i is ranked 8th, Nio ET7 is ranked 12th, Polestar 2 is ranked 14th and Audi Q4 e-tron is ranked 17th.
Additionally, AnTuTu separately shared the test results of the recently released Xiaomi SU7 EV, which has the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip as the first three EVs. It is paired with 16GB of RAM (12GB dedicated to the Android operating system) and 128GB of storage.
With this configuration, Xiaomi SU7 managed to get an AnTuTu score of 957833 points. This is slightly lower compared to other models with the same SOC and memory configurations. However, this technically puts SU7 at fourth place in the top ten. Hopefully we’ll see him in his rightful place on the updated list for July.
Because the program is new, it will take some time to create a complete database of EV measurements. Preliminary data gives an idea about the performance of the infotainment systems of different brands of electric vehicles, but a clearer picture will emerge when more vehicles are tested.
It will be interesting to see how the ratings evolve and which brands consistently offer the most responsive infotainment system. This new testing adds another level of evaluation to electric vehicles, allowing consumers to consider not only range and power but also the user experience within the vehicle itself.
