volkswagen We are currently developing the coolest Golf R Club Sports. The car needs approval from Volkswagen’s board of directors, and if given the green light it could be the brand’s hottest hatchback yet.

Martin Hube, representative volkswagenRoad&Track reported that the company is working on a “tracker version” of the model. However, he did not specify how the company would achieve this. The Golf R Clubsport is expected to feature improved suspension geometry and some weight reduction.

GolfR It’s powered by Volkswagen’s EA888 turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 315 hp, and could make a little more power in the Golf R Clubsport. Golf R comes with a six-speed manual transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive system.

The R Clubsport must exceed the standard acceleration time up to 96 km/h. The Golf R is a tenth or two-tenths of a second equal to 4.7 seconds. However, it does not seem possible for Volkswagen to increase the model’s top speed, which is limited to 250 km/h, for Clubsport. The most noticeable improvements will be noticed in lap times.

If the vehicle is indeed approved, it won’t reach America until 2025 at the earliest.
