The MSI SPATIUM M560 SSD is one of the storage solutions that the Taiwanese company is exhibiting at the domestic fair. In addition to this internal drive, MSI also offers two other external solutions, all based on hard storage. We’ll leave you with her.

MSI SPATIUM M560

This is an SSD drive that follows the line of the high-end M580 drive that the company announced a few months ago. It uses the M.2 2280 format widely used in SSD drives and connects to the PCIe 5.0 interface for maximum performance. Uses 8th generation Kioxia BiCS 3D TLC NAND 218-layer memory and Phison E31T controller to achieve data transfer speed 10,000 MB per second in read and write mode.

It will be available in storage capacities 1TB and 2TB. and will present a cooling solution that the company also presented at Computex. You already know that Gen5 SSDs reach high operating temperatures and require advanced solutions.

MSI calls SPATIUM a non-metallic vapor chamber “It is a world first that uses a gas-liquid two-phase transition with minimal signal interference, which ensures fast and quiet heat exchange”. According to the company, this refrigerator will lower the temperature by up to 11 degrees compared to a standard aluminum heatsink. We don’t know availability or pricing, though they should be slightly cheaper than the company’s flagship M580.

External drives

MSI also brought a few external solutions to Computex, both interesting for different reasons.

The first is SSD DATAMAG which, as the name suggests, is a portable unit that can be magnetically attached to any metal device or any other device with a metal base. The USB4 interface makes its debut, which with the Phison U21 controller enables speeds of up to 40 Gbps. It connects to a USB Type-C port and is compatible with previous standards, albeit with less power. It will be available in capacities of 1 TB, 2 TB and 4 TB.

The second unit is SSD DATAVAULT. It uses the USB-C 3.2 Gen 2×2 interface for transfer speeds of up to 20 Gb/s and supports PCIe NVMe M.2 SSDs in formats 2242, 2260 and 2280. It has an aluminum construction with IP68 protection and is compatible with any type of device and system with a USB Type port -C.
