In May, more than 1,000 electric vehicles were registered in Ukraine, which is 63% more than in May 2021.
This was reported in Telegram by the Association of Automobile Manufacturers of Ukraine “Ukravtoprom”, as reported by Ukrinform.
“In May, the Ukrainian car fleet was replenished with 1,016 fully electric vehicles (BEVs). This result was better since the beginning of the year and was 63% higher than a year ago,” he said.
According to experts, the share of new cars in this figure was 28% compared to 11% last year. Experts attribute the increase in demand for electric cars to the fuel crisis.
The bulk of electric cars registered in May were cars – 984 units. (new – 287 units, used – 697 units). Compared to last year’s result of registration of passenger BEVs in May, it increased by almost 67%.
Since the beginning of the year, 3,090 electric vehicles have been registered in Ukraine, which is 2.5% more than in the same period of 2021. 80% of this amount is used cars.
As reported, in May, compared to April, sales of new cars doubled, according to Ukravtoprom – to 2.5 thousand units. This is 70% less than in May last year.
