Veeam Data Cloud Vault enables organizations to store their cloud data offsite in an immutable and encrypted format, adding an additional layer of security to critical information.
Veeam will present its new backup solution at VeeamON 2024. Data Cloud Vault is a cloud-based backup solution for securely storing important information stored in the cloud off-site. The solution is integrated with Veeam’s backup and replication software.
Sure sure
Data Cloud Vault is designed to not only guarantee companies the security of their data, but also to offer simplicity and cost savings. The security aspect is anchored in the Zero Trust principles. Backups are immutable, encrypted and Air gap of active production dates. Even if an intruder manages to penetrate the cloud environment, they still cannot access backups in the Data Cloud Vault vault.
Veeam offers Data Cloud Vault as a managed vault Storage as a ServiceSolution to relieve customers of administration and configuration. Finally, Veeam also promises predictable costs with no fine print. The prices include not only the storage component, but also the necessary API calls to write to that storage and to read and retrieve data in the event of a recovery.
Your data, your responsibility
With Data Cloud Vault, Veeam wants to dispel a common misconception about cloud storage. Companies sometimes assume too easily that data stored in the cloud is by definition inaccessible to intruders. For data to be irretrievably lost, something has to go wrong with the customer or supplier. Cloud data also needs backups.
Veeam further reinforces this statement by releasing its annual Ransomware Trends Report during VeeamON, which shows that on average 41 percent of data is compromised in a cyberattack. Only 57 percent of that can be recovered, with the remaining 43 percent lost forever.
“Off-site storage of backups is an essential part of any backup strategy and critical for fast and clean recovery after a disruption or cyberattack,” said Veeam CEO Anad Eswaran.
