Asana introduces “AI teammates” for your company. The artificial team members help with the distribution and follow-up of tasks, but can also take tasks off your hands.

Organizations that use Asana to coordinate their workflows will soon have new colleagues. Asana announces its new “AI teammates” in a press release. Asana wants to show that collaboration between AI and humans is the future to increase productivity, says CEO Dustin Moskovitz.

The AI ​​Teammates were born out of the Asana Work Graph, the company’s core data model that captures relationships and context between teams and workflows in an organization. By leveraging all of this data, an AI teammate can get a holistic view of an employee or team’s needs, the company said.

Advice and assistance

Your new artificial colleagues take on both an advisory and an active role within the organization. The AI ​​helps you set priorities and warns you of potential risks to goal achievement. The AI ​​teammates also analyze the workflows within your teams and provide suggestions and resources to improve them.

In addition, AI can also actively assign tasks to you and your team members, or even take tasks away from you. We don’t know if you will also be reprimanded by your AI teammate if you push back the deadline for a particular task too often. Asana is also adding a chat interface where you can proactively ask for advice. Finally, AI team members can also be trained to take on a specific role within the team.

Asana is making AI Teammates available in beta to a limited number of enterprise customers. The company has not yet indicated when the feature will be rolled out more widely.
