Xiaomi SU7 accident: One dead, three injured

Earlier today (June 7, 2024), Xiaomi shared an official statement acknowledging the accident and stating that it was actively cooperating with the police in the investigation. The brand also launched its own investigation into the Xiaomi SU7 involved in this fatal incident. According to local media reports, the premium electric car suddenly lost control while leaving the parking lot and crashed into other vehicles and pedestrians walking in the non-motorized traffic lane.

As a result, 1 person died and 3 people were injured. However, Xiaomi claims that Xiaomi SU7 is not to blame. Police obtained server data from the car confirming that the electric vehicle was in normal condition at the time of the crash, the company said in a statement. This included operating the brake and accelerator pedals under optimal conditions. He also added that they are working closely with the police and will disclose new information in due course.

Xiaomi later criticized Chinese media for their reckless handling of the incident, as they used terms such as “vehicle out of control” and “brake failure” without having accurate information.
