Lossless Scaling has received an update to 2.9, which brings significant improvements that allow you to multiply the frame rate per second in games by up to three. Yes, you read that right, you will be able to enjoy it up to three times more FPS in games thanks to the application, which costs only 6.89 euros.
This large increase in FPS is possible thanks to frame generation, a technology that in Lossless Scaling 2.9 is capable of generating two intermediate frames for each traditionally rendered frame. This means that for example, if we have a speed of 30 FPS, we can achieve a total of 90 FPS with this application.
Lossless Scaling also includes technology that is able to dynamically adjust the frame rate, depending on the timing of the frame this is necessary at all times and without exceeding the maximum refresh rate of the monitor. Another important confirmed improvement is increased GPU load (up to 70% more) compared to the previous method of interframe generation.
For best results, it is recommended to use frame generation with a minimum base rate of 30 FPS in 1080p and 40 FPS in 1440p. Mode of generating two intermediate frames it does not create any additional latency compared to the single transition frame mode, but in this case it is recommended to lock the game frame rate to one third of the monitor’s refresh rate.
This technology works really well for a software-implemented solution, making it a very interesting option extend the life of certain graphics card models, such as GeForce RTX 2060 and Radeon RX 5700 to name two well-known examples. I remind you that this application also allows us to easily use different types of scaling, such as LS1, AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution, NVIDIA Image Scaling, Integer Scaling and Sharp Bilinear, among others.
Frame generation works not only in traditional games, but also can be enabled on those running via emulation. This application is very easy to use and has very affordable requirements, as it lists GeForce GTX 1060 and Radeon RX 580 as recommended graphics cards, if you have a computer that is getting old and you want to improve your gaming experience for little money, you should try it. If you are unsure, you can always request a refund.
