Taiwanese company HTC, known for its innovative smartphones in the past, is preparing to return to the mobile device market. On the company’s official account on the social network X, an intriguing teaser of the new smartphone was published against the background of the space theme with a message about an upcoming announcement.

According to the information in the post, the launch of the mysterious device will take place on June 12, and the only clue that this will happen are the #ALLFORU and #HTC hashtags. Interestingly, the post sparked a lot of interest among users, garnering over 866,000 views, 7,900 likes and 1,700 reshares in less than a week.

As HotHardWare writes, excitement over HTC’s comeback is unsurprising, given the company’s rich history in the smartphone market. In 2008, HTC released the world’s first Android smartphone, the HTC Dream (also known as the T-Mobile G1). The device had a retractable display, a physical QWERTY keyboard, 256 MB of internal memory, a slot for microSD cards and 3G support. At the time it was a groundbreaking machine with wide modification possibilities.

Despite later successful models such as the HTC One M7 and M8, the company faced stiff competition from Samsung and Apple. As a result, HTC sold most of its mobile division to Google for $1.1 billion in 2018 and focused on the virtual reality market with its Vive headset line.

Although there are no official details about the new smartphone yet, it is assumed that HTC is preparing to launch the U24 Pro model, which has previously appeared in Google Play databases and Geekbench benchmarking. According to preliminary data, the device will receive a screen with a resolution of 2426 × 1080 pixels, Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor and 12 GB RAM. These are mid-range specs, but a lot will depend on the location, features and final price of the smartphone.

Experts believe that HTC’s comeback will definitely attract the attention of enthusiasts and fans of the brand.
