A company of Chinese origin MINISFORUM showed at Computex 2024 at R3GAFand dock via the OCuLink interface, which includes an AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT graphics card. Yes, it is a dock which, in addition to providing additional connections, can act as an external graphics card that can be connected to a laptop or portable console with an OCuLink port.

Thanks to the use of OCuLink, the MINISFORUM R3GAF has support for external PCIe 4.0 connections. Among your connections it provides two DisplayPort 1.4 ports and an HDMI 2.1 connector, making it possible to support a total of three external displays on paper. But aside from the ports it makes available, MINISFORUM R3GAF’s standout component is the graphics. The MINISFORUM R3GAF is an interesting solution for those people who have a laptop that does not have many connections or who are interested in converting an x86 portable console into a production computer. Of course you have to keep in mind that it uses the OCuLink interface and that requires power work thanks to the implementation of a dedicated graphics card, although it is external.
