The body of British TV presenter Michael Mosley was found in a rocky area of Symi, Greece.
He was transferred to the neighboring island of Rhodes in the Dodecanese for legal investigations.
Police said the coroner has ruled out any foul play, although the cause of death is under investigation.
The doctor’s wife, Claire Bailey Mosley, said in a statement that Mosley went for a walk, took the wrong route and fell.
The body was found days after Mosley disappeared while walking on a Greek island, local officials and police told Reuters on Sunday.
The 67-year-old health advocate, who was a prominent face on British television for two decades, was found on Sunday morning, ending a four-day search that involved planes, drones and sniffer dogs.
Police spokeswoman Constantina Dimoglidou said the body of a man, believed to be Mosley, was found in the Agia Marina area, north of the town of Pedi and opposite the north-eastern beach of Agios Nikolaos, where Mosley had gone for a walk.
Symi Mayor Lefteris Papakalodoukas said the discovery came after he and others, including journalists from state broadcaster ERT, filmed the area from a boat.
ERT reported that Mosley was found face up with his head on a rock.
Mosley, who was on holiday with his wife, was last seen alive at 13:30 (1030 GMT) on Wednesday. Since her disappearance, her children arrived on Friday in Symi, which is about 10 miles (16 kilometers) long and has 2,500 inhabitants. (Reuters).
