Microsoft has begun the final phase of testing a major fall update to Windows 11. The Windows 11 22H2 update has already been rolled out to Windows Insiders on the Release Preview channel.

According to Microsoft’s documentation, the Release Preview channel provides access to new versions of Windows before they are released to all users. Unlike the beta channel and the developer channel, this is a release with quality improvements and updates along with some key features. This is the final step in the testing process before commercial deployment; The company makes the latest fixes and improvements, mostly bug fixes and minor improvements.

Earlier, Microsoft had confirmed that build of Windows 11 22H2 number 22621 has stable release status of RTM (Release to Manufacturers). At this stage, Windows 11 22H2 will spend at least a few months as the company wants to make sure the update is pretty stable.

Windows 11 22H2 will bring many improvements, including new Start menu features including folder creation, redesigned Task Manager, drag-and-drop files to the taskbar, a new Family program, and more. Windows 11 22H2 is expected to be released by October 2022. Source
