Jabra is launching the second generation of its Elite 8 Active and Elite 10 earbuds, marking the end of the Elite line. GN, Jabra’s parent company, announced in a press release that it will phase out both the Elite and Talk production lines. This is due to changing market dynamics and a shifted focus to other specialized audio markets where the company sees potential for profitability. GN promises to offer customer service and support for “several years,” but plans to reduce inventory of the products by the end of 2024.
Jabra announces the second generation of its Elite 8 Active and Elite 10 consumer headphones, which are the last products in the range. “The decision to phase out the Elite and Talk product lines is part of our commitment to focus on attractive markets where we can achieve profitable growth and strong returns,” said Peter Karlstromer, CEO of GN Store Nord.
The end of the Elite range does not mean that Jabra will stop producing earbuds completely. The company will continue to produce audio products as part of its Evolve range.
The exit from the Elite line is paradoxically announced with the launch of the latest new products in this line: Elite 8 Active Gen 2 and Elite 10 Gen 2. The company itself claims that these are the “best earbuds ever”, with even better sound quality and noise cancellation. A notable new feature is the case, which allows users to connect to external devices via an AUX port or USB port and send audio directly to the earbuds.
The Elite line is a consumer-oriented line, which is evident in the fact that Jabra, for example, focuses on the robustness of the earphones for athletes. The previous generations Elite 8 Active and Elite 10 were tested and rated positively by our editors, so when in doubt we give preference to Jabra. The Jabra Elite 8 Active Gen 2 and Elite 10 Gen 2 are available in various colors at a price of 229.99 euros including VAT and 279.99 euros including VAT respectively.
