Experts of the European Space Agency (ESA), whose main task is the rarest and hottest layer of the atmosphere of our star, whose temperature is millions of degrees.
To solve this task, ESA engineers have built two satellites that will go into space in the autumn of 2024. One of them will serve as an artificial Moon for the other. Once in orbit, the spacecraft will be separated from each other at a distance of 144 meters (their positions relative to each other will be controlled with millimeter precision). The first apparatus will block the Sun for the other, allowing observation of the inner layers of the solar corona.
Besides scientific missions, the mission will be an ideal method of demonstrating the precise location of the two space platforms.
