A dive into the world of Zoom: The Experience Center offers customers a personal Zoom experience

Zoom’s Experience Centre opened its doors in London on June 5, immersing customers in the world of Zoom in an innovative and interactive way.

Zoom opened its first Zoom Experience Centre in central London on June 5. The editors of ITdaily were able to attend and were given an exclusive tour of the Experience Centre as part of the opening reception. And when we say exclusive, we really mean exclusive, because even Graeme Geddes, Chief Growth Officer, told us in an interview afterwards that he had not yet experienced the Experience Tour himself.

About 2.5 years ago, the idea was born to launch a Zoom Experience Center where customers and partners could immerse themselves in what Zoom has to offer in an innovative and modern way. The end result was proudly presented to several journalists and analysts and the opening was then celebrated at a reception with customers and partners. We take you behind the scenes of the Zoom Experience Center in the heart of London.

Meeting room of the future

Before the official tour start, we first go into the well-cooled room Meeting room of the futurewhere we sit with other journalists at the half-open round table. What immediately caught our eye is the curved 8K LED screen that covers an entire wall and State of the art Audio systems. This room is clearly the epitome of Zoom’s modern meeting technology.

Zoom – meeting room of the future

After some inspiring sessions from Zoom’s executive team, Izabella Lorenz, Global Real Estate & Workplace Strategy at Zoom, came to break the tension. Everyone is excited for the Experience Room tour to begin, and it’s not just about the journalists. To keep us on our toes, Lorenz wanted to briefly revisit the Experience Center’s design strategy and core values.

Design strategy

In fact, the design strategy demonstrates how Zoom is approaching sustainability holistically and reducing its carbon footprint through the Experience Center’s Gold LEED certification, a globally recognized symbol of sustainability performance.

The Experience Center is a testament to our core values of caring and sustainability, with innovative designs and community-focused initiatives such as Art for Impact.

In addition, Zoom has collaborated with him Art for impactInitiative that brings organizations together with artists to support their local nonprofit groups. Zoom partnered with Nicaraguan women’s collective Tejedoras, NGO Casa Congo, and design agency Unispace to create a custom tapestry made from 3,500 plastic bags to inspire visitors to get involved in environmental conservation and social impact.

Welcome to the world of Zoom

We go to the reception area where the Experience Center tour begins. This is where partners and customers are received and the first meeting takes place. A modular sofa and a kitchen faucet from which all kinds of drinks are dispensed via tablet stand out, but the cylindrical glass room in the middle of the room attracts the most attention. The so-called Lens wall is a nearly 40 meter long wall decoration.

Frankie Vu, Experience Center Evangelist, EMEA, at Zoom, is waiting for us in this cylindrical glass room. Once we arrive in the room, we are almost completely surrounded by LED screens. Here we are standing in front of the world’s first curved LED screen with multi-touch interactivity, which offers a 360-degree visual experience. And Vu is happy to show us.

As we turn around, Vu’s colleague appears in front of the second LED screen behind us to demonstrate how AI Companion, Zoom’s AI bot, can make a fictional person’s job easier. One image after another appears on the screen with just a few gentle touches. We see a simulation of how AI Companion is used to summarize meetings, look up talking points, and more.

The demonstration continues with another Zoom team member taking over the screen and showing how AI Companion can be used in a specific use case, in this case a contact center. Using a few examples, he shows how AI Companion seamlessly moves from AI chatbot to customer service agent, using AI to provide the customer with the right information in the shortest possible time.

Through the eyes of the customer

And it is this final demonstration that shows how the product can be used from the perspective of a specific customer. This is also the main goal that Zoom has in mind with its Experience Center. The showcases are personalized for each customer or partner during demos and workshops, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in what Zoom has to offer. It offers a realistic and tangible experience of Zoom from the customer’s perspective.

Little by little, the first partners and customers arrive for the official opening reception of the Zoom Experience Center. We are cordially invited to join the group for a drink. Of course, an opening includes an official opening ribbon, which is ritually cut with a large pair of scissors. The Zoom Experience Center is hereby opened.
