LinkedIn helps users find new jobs thanks to AI features

The new AI-powered tools are designed to help users find a new job on LinkedIn, with the AI bot doing the searching and providing suggestions for your cover letter and resume.

LinkedIn is bringing new AI-powered features to its platform to help users find a job, tailor their resume based on a job posting, and even get advice from AI chatbots. These features are available to Premium subscribers worldwide. Costs apply and are currently only available in English.

Job search with AI

LinkedIn announced earlier this year that it was working on a new premium business subscription with AI tools. Now the professional platform is introducing new AI features that allow users to search for a job opening based on an AI chatbot and receive feedback on their resume and cover letter. LinkedIn takes the specific job posting into account to ensure that the application stands out to hiring managers. In addition, a tool is available that allows you to create a cover letter from scratch using AI.

In a blog post, LinkedIn Chief Product Officer Tomer Cohen shows what these new AI-powered features will look like in practice. For example, using a short natural language prompt, you can ask the AI tool to search for a job in a specific region and with a minimum wage requirement. Cohen uses the following example: “Find a remote marketing job in Detroit that pays at least $110,000.” Open positions that match the requirements will then appear.

AI ambitions

In addition to these AI features, LinkedIn is also currently testing AI personas that you can have conversations with to learn about specific business topics. “The answers you get are from experts and are a mix of insights tailored to the individual needs of each student,” Cohen said.

Finally, the company promises to improve the platform’s search functionality more comprehensively with generative AI, but a detailed explanation is lacking. Cohen writes in his blog post: “AI will revolutionize our search capabilities and allow you to explore the depth and breadth of any topic directly from LinkedIn.” The search improvements are expected to roll out “in the coming weeks.”
