We’ve been expecting its launch this week, and here we have the Samsung Galaxy Watch FE officially unveiled. The model with which the South Korean giant opens a new type of line, because it is first time using last name “FE” (Fan Edition known from their mobile phones) on their smart watches.
Samsung didn’t get to see its event unpacked to introduce their new economy watch. Certainly not to detract from the prominence of the general Watch7 series that will be introduced here (along with new foldable mobile headphones) and the impressive “Ultra” version that will be the highlight of its catalog. The model in question goes directly to the opposite part, to the input range.
Samsung Galaxy Watch FE, more of the same but cheap
The general specs of this FE won’t excite you because It’s basically Watch4 which is three years old. It has a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display with a native resolution of 396 × 396 pixels and AOD function (Always on display).
It is powered by a processor Exynos W920 1.18 GHz developed by Samsung combined with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. It has a 247 mAh battery and has Bluetooth 5.0 wireless connectivity and a BioActive sensor for monitoring health and sports activities.
Here, the watch will develop its potential with advanced features for sleep telemetry and heart health. Watch FE can detect abnormal heart rhythms resembling atrial fibrillation, as well as detect irregular heart rhythm alerts. It will also monitor body composition, blood pressure monitoring and EKG. For sports, the smartwatch supports more than 100 different exercises.
Samsung has restored the glass of the Watch FE to composite Sapphire and that’s actually the only difference (in hardware) you’ll find from the Watch4. In addition, it does not have a rotating bezel like the Classic version, but it is still a stylish and attractive watch. They will only be available in 40mm, in black, rose and silver, and with new watch straps that feature the signature blue and orange stitching.

Having said all of the above, we see the value of the Samsung Galaxy Watch FE in its software and its support, as compared to the Watch4, which will no longer be supported next year, it will arrive with One UI 5.0 and potential system updates in the future. Its price is also interesting, 199 euros when it hits the market on June 24.
