If you’re a user of the Brave browser, but also of Brave Search – the default – and rely on Leo, its AI assistant, be aware: improves the integration of both elements…of course with their buts.

According to the Brave blog, Leo now integrates real-time Brave Search results for better answers, providing more accurate and up-to-date answers. In fact, the new feature will be particularly interesting and useful for current events queries, they point out, although it can also be used with “training topics in legacy language models.”

How does this integration work? It’s as simple as typing what you want to search for in the address bar and pressing instead enterselect the option «Ask Leo» which will appear in the drop-down list. The result of the request will therefore be in the form of a response from the assistant on your website, a custom section in the side menu.

It doesn’t seem like the optimal way, given the limited capabilities of Lion in general and especially for non-paying users, but it’s there at the moment if you want to do a search and get an answer from the assistant. Add this feature to it for now only available on Brave for PC; Mobile phones will come later.

Was there a better way to do things? Here it was. In fact, a less direct but more complete integration has existed for a long time: just open the wizard on a specific result or option page summarize the content or ask the AI ​​if the setting is «Use the page content for answers«.

This last method also works with any search engine results. In any case, yes user privacy is guaranteed: no credentials required, no sensitive data stored, etc.

Would it be better to integrate all results, search engine results and assistant results? Definitely. But it was decided to do it this way. This means that there is a middle way: perform the search normally and – already in Brave Search – instead of clicking the search button, choose «Answer with AI» for Leo to provide an answer before the organic results.
