Microsoft had to stop the rollout of the preview of its major Windows 11 update last week, but is now offering the update again.
Microsoft resumes updating Windows 11 24H2. At the end of last week, Redmond continued the rollout of the preview The Insider channel suddenly went quiet, without too much explanation. The preview has been available since May 22nd. Now Microsoft is resuming the rollout process as promised. The new build will have the number 26100.863.
This version of the update aims to fix sound issues with Bluetooth and also improve the experience with Copilot. In addition, there are some updates for issues that players have encountered.
From now on, Copilot behaves more like an app. In other words, you can resize the window and move it around: not an unrealistic expectation for an operating system named after Windows.
Microsoft is targeting Windows 11 24H2 on computers compatible with Copilot+, but Insiders don’t seem to need a modern system with NPU: a computer that meets the minimum requirements for Windows 11 is enough. The general rollout of the Windows 11 update is planned for the fall.
Recall
Microsoft is having a bit of a hard time with its rollout strategy for new software. The Windows 11 24H2 pause went by without too much controversy, but the same can’t be said for Recall, a new feature that essentially logs everything you do on your computer with screenshots. Users didn’t like that, so Recall is now optional.
