IBM has announced the launch of IBM Concert, a new tool that uses generative AI to help organizations better understand and manage their applications and operations.

IBM Concert provides application owners with detailed insights into their connected applications and tools, enabling them to optimize compliance processes. Watsonx AI generates analytics, visualizations and recommendations that can be quickly translated into action. This helps organizations discover gaps, prioritize insights and implement changes, contributing to more resilient, innovative and cost-efficient operations.

The tool consists of three steps:

• Connect to existing applications and tools and automatically display relevant operational data.
• IBM Concert’s AI engine analyzes the application architecture and uncovers relationships and dependencies.
• IBM Concert provides recommendations on, for example, the placement and security of apps and can trigger automated actions.

IBM Concert collects data and creates a view of the application environment, including dependencies and risk information, eliminating the need to navigate through multiple dashboards. Users gain access to a dynamic interface that provides an overview of the applications and potential risks. The system can answer natural language questions such as “How do I solve this problem?” or “What is the biggest risk here?” and generates insights to take action.

Concert streamlines compliance management by managing security standards as applications grow, encouraging collaboration between app, security, and compliance teams. By tracking deviations from standards and prioritizing actions, Concert encourages proactive compliance practices built into the application lifecycle.

Application certificate management
Concert helps efficiently manage security certificates and application performance by identifying and tracking the lifecycle of certificates. The system ranks certificates by potential impact and helps prioritize innovation to avoid business disruption.

IBM plans to introduce additional risk use cases and other focus areas such as cost, observability, security and network in the future.
