Customs officials said Tuesday that detention of a US citizen and a local resident in the last two weeks after using methamphetamine, also known as “Ice“, was discovered in cache located in Fanling District late last month.
According to official sources, on May 29, inspectors intercepted a cargo containing 60 boxes of 12 liter bottles of hot sauce each..
After careful analysis, they discovered that 264 of those 720 bottles actually contained liquid methamphetamine.
This is about the largest shipment of this drug seized this year in a former British colony.
Agents also seized hundreds of kilograms of chemicalssuch as sodium hydroxide, as well as air purifiers, hoods and kitchen utensils, among others, Deputy Superintendent Joseph Kwok explained to the local press today.
