Google rolls out the third beta of Android 15 with platform stability and a new change to the Passkeys UI.
In April this year, Google released the first public beta of Android 15, although not much was revealed. A second beta followed, and now the company is announcing a new third beta version of the operating system to achieve platform stability. This will allow app developers to start testing their applications in the beta version.
The third beta of Android 15 includes platform stability, which means that the developer APIs and all app-related behaviors are now final for viewing and integration into your apps. In addition, apps for Android 15 can be made available on Google Play.
Google also writes in a blog post that it is making a major change to the Passkeys UI. Users will be able to log into apps on Android 15 in one step using facial recognition, fingerprint, or screen lock passkeys. If you accidentally tap past the passkey, there are new fallback options that you can access in the keyboard and text field dropdown menus.
This is now the third beta version that Google is rolling out of Android 15, and it is nearing the final version. You can see a full overview of the third beta version in this blog post.
