We will have to wait a few more months for the arrival of Android 15, the next major evolution of Google’s operating system, which since 2017 holds the first place in the global ranking of the most used OS in the world. Of course, the proliferation of the smartphone over the last decade contributed to this, but also the fact that Google knew how to position its proposition for this market quite quickly and intelligently.

Google released the first developer preview of Android 15 in mid-February and Since then, it has been adapting like clockwork to the calendar that was published these days.. After the first two beta versions aimed exclusively at developers so that they could start getting acquainted with some of the new features, beta versions aimed at all users who are interested in trying them out began to arrive in April. During this phase, we saw features start to arrive that will be new features of the future operating system.

And so we arrived in June and Google has released Android 15 Beta 3, which adds some new features that we’ll talk about soon, such as an adaptive screen lock, some cosmetic changes, and tweaks to login and password management, among others. This beta is now not so much interesting because of its new features, but because Android 15 has already entered the system stability phase with its launch.

As you can infer from the name, it tells us that as it stands, we can expect the system and core apps to be already there they offer a good level of reliabilityand that’s because both the system’s own API and the OS “behavior” have already reached their final version, so everything already corresponds as it should, although the final version is still a few months away from identifying possible bugs and fixing them before release, which we hope will happen in October.

Using a beta version always carries risks, so it is never advisable to do this on devices that we use daily. However, the Android depeloper preview or release from the Dev channel of the Windows Insiders program is not the same as one of the final beta versions of the stability phase of Android development, such as this version of Android 15 Beta 3. With that, of course, we do not encourage you to install it on your smartphone, far from it no, but we make it clear that it is much more secure now than it was a few months ago.
