Employment agency Adecco is the first in our country to launch a free, AI-powered resume builder that aims to help 8,000 job seekers find a job in Belgium every year.
Employment agency Adecco is launching a free tool that helps applicants create a professional CV by simply speaking into their smartphone in their native language. This CV maker aims to help around 8,000 job seekers find a job in Belgium every year. One in four job seekers abandons a job when they have to create a CV and Adecco wants to reduce this number with this free tool. This tool is particularly beneficial for non-native speakers, people over 55 or young people with little education. The CV maker is also available to people who are not looking for a job through Adecco.
Today, one in four job seekers would abandon an application if they had to create a CV. Adecco wants to change that with this free tool. In addition, the CV maker is also available free of charge to people who are not looking for a job through Adecco.
“These are often people who do not own a computer or laptop, have insufficient knowledge of word processing programs, do not have sufficient language skills or believe that they cannot ‘sell’ themselves sufficiently to an employer,” says spokesman FrĆ©dĆ©ric Van Waeijenberge. “The CV builder removes these obstacles using artificial intelligence.”
A quick chat with the AI āābot and your CV is ready. This CV is then easily created using your smartphone. First, you enter some personal information such as your name, address and driving license. Then you have a short conversation with the AI āābot in which you talk about your studies and professional experience. Based on this information, it creates an easy-to-read text that can then be read.
The more specific you are about what you have already achieved in your professional life, the more personal your resume will be. Finally, you can add a personal touch by adding a color or a photo and adding personal information. Et voila, your resume is ready to send.
The CV Maker is a novelty in our country, but has already proven itself in other countries such as France and Italy. Over the last three months, an average of 6,000 French and almost 2,500 Italians have created a digital CV during the interview. In this way, Adecco was able to help a total of 850 additional people find work.
“With the CV Maker, we want to help as many non-Dutch-speaking people in Belgium as possible – and certainly also refugees – to find a job. One of our goals within the Adecco Group is to help more than 85,000 refugees find work by 2027 and to enable 17,000 of them to receive (additional) training. We are convinced that work is not just a source of income, but a first, important step towards building a life and integrating in a new country,” concludes Jan Dekeyser, CEO of Adecco Belgium.
