Microsoft admits problems in recent Windows 11 updates

Microsoft has acknowledged the existence of new problems in new updates released for the Windows 11 operating system. After installing KB5036893 (April Security Update), Windows 11 Pro users cannot upgrade to Enterprise edition. At the same time the task scheduler reports the “Access Denied” error with error code 0x80070005. The problem did not go away with the release of more security updates; Microsoft is still working to fix the bug.

Users are also complaining about problems opening the updated Microsoft Photos program. Microsoft has acknowledged that Microsoft Photos no longer works with the “Prevent non-administrative users from installing bundled Windows applications” policy enabled, starting with version 2024.11050.29009.0.

Another issue noticed by Microsoft is related to the high CPU load when using CDEH (Cross Device Experience Host), an add-on suite that helps the computer and phone interact better. CDEH works with the new “Use as connected camera” and “Get notified about new photos” phone connectivity features.
