Recently, NASA began accepting applications from various companies to participate in this project. A total of 48 different companies applied and seven were selected earlier this month. This list includes SpaceX, Blue Origin and Lockheed Martin, which participated in the Artemis lunar program.
SpaceX’s plan, of course, involved using Starship to send samples from Mars. The company plans to use Starship in every aspect of its journey to Mars. SpaceX has proposed 2029 as the date for a demonstration mission to land on the Red Planet.
Lockheed did not provide any specific details, and Blue Origin is proposing the creation of a Blue Mars Lander for the mission. According to the company’s plan, the samples could be delivered to Earth in 2033.
