Vivaldi 6.8 It is a new version of the web browser for PC (Linux, Mac Windows), the third that has seen the light of day this year, and I must say that the first brings really interesting news and significant improvements to existing functions, which would also benefit much better from a different type of “attention (he said sync anyone?).

However, the big beneficiary of this launch has its own name and it is none other than Vivaldi Mail 2.0, a new version of the e-mail manager integrated into the browser. In fact, one of the highlights of the last few versions of Vivaldi – to be fair I also mention the support for extensions in web panels – has been the improvement of news search with a new series of filters.

Now, the improvements that come with Vivaldi Mail 2.0, as indicated by the version number, are much more consistent. Starting with a new option that automatically downloads received messages to improve search capabilities, which includes any part of the message in this way, additionally allows you to preview any message even when there is no connection. This option is enabled by default to download messages from the last month, but can be configured to affect only open messages, those received in the last day, week, month, year… all or none.

Three major new features of Vivaldi Mail 2.0

Another very interesting feature that Vivaldi Mail 2.0 adopts is Quick Reply, through a box located below the message that allows you to write and reply directly from there without having to open the reply tab with all the corresponding options. It has an “include quoted text” box, but not a signature. But it is undoubtedly an addition that will help speed up the task and save time.

Finally, Vivaldi Mail 2.0 adds a new feature cancel events that it “remembers up to 200 recent deletions or marking an email as read/unread, allowing you to undo the action with just one click.” Another very useful option especially for those who manage multiple accounts at the same time, just for the sake of saving time to have all centralized so you don’t search without knowing where.

Of course, if you use Vivaldi but not its email manager, all of the above will matter little to you. But also general news in Vivaldi 6.8 and one of the most convenient is that they now show tabs real-time memory consumption just by running into it. Do you find your browser a bit tight?
