Nintendo Switch says goodbye in style: Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong, Metroid…

For some time now, notable releases aside, almost all news about the Nintendo Switch has revolved around its successor, another console from the big N that we know very little about: It will come out in 2025 and stop countingbecause the Nintendo Switch 2 thing doesn’t seem likely to happen, given the company’s history with its products.

Now, despite the not so obvious but understandable technological exhaustion that the Nintendo Switch shows, the console still has a lot of life, and the best proof of this is that its price is not going down. Add to the equation the catalog – this is the most important thing, don’t be fooled – that in the time the device has been on the market it has been absolutely impressive and you have it.

But everything comes to an end, and the Nintendo Switch will be no exception. What it will be is a source of pleasure for its users because the hybrid will have a grand farewellas announced by the Japanese company in a Nintendo Direct published this week, which previewed the most notable launches that the console will see in the expected final phase.

There’s stuff we’ve seen before, yes, but also new games and some of their strongest franchises. Leaving aside what’s dropping from third parties, which will be a lot, what just dropped or is about to drop and stuff related to that (it’s coming out next week Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD), for example, are five Nintendo games that will please Switch users in the coming months.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

The closest release in time, and perhaps the most surprising of all, is the release The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, a new game from Nintendo’s most successful franchise, which also brings very, very noticeable new features: it’s a return to the traditional top-down perspective style, but with an interesting twist in terms of dimensions… and with Princess Zelda herself as the protagonist. it comes out on sale September 26.

Super Mario Party: Jamboree

The second first-party game that Nintendo will introduce in the second half of the year will be Super Mario Party: Jamboree, the new installment of its most casual classic, which promises engagement and fun for the whole family, including more than 110 minigames to its credit, and already known and new ones. it comes out on sale October 17.

Mario & Luigi: Brotherly Connection

Halfway there Paper Mario and platformers, lovers of titles with Mario in the main role (it should be remembered that several of them have already been released this year) and companies will find in Mario & Luigi: Brotherly Connection another opportunity for joy, in a slightly different style. it comes out on sale November 7.

Donkey Kong Country returns in HD

Early next year, Nintendo will be relaunching for Switch users Donkey Kong Country returns in HDa Wii title that wasn’t a huge success in its day, but which (without reaching mastery level Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze from Wii U, available for a while on Switch) is worth it for those who like to romp in the middle of the jungle, cross-platform: To be released on sale January 16.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

The culmination of these announcements is the highly anticipated – and that’s no way to speak – Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, the new first-person Metroid installment developed by Retro Studios for GameCube and Wii, which gave us so much joy in its time. With everything that has come out for the Nintendo Switch, the console couldn’t have a better farewell. It goes on sale… in 2025yes at the moment a specific date.
