The Ryzen AI 9 365 is part of AMD’s Ryzen AI 300 series of APUs, a new generation of APUs that represent Sunnyvale’s big commitment to the smart PC. They are made up of CPUs that are combined Zen 5 and Zen 5c coresuse a Radeon RDNA 3.5+ GPU and have an NPU capable of developing performance up to 50 TOPs.
If we do a quick comparison, we realize that the NPU numbers are very good, as Snapdragon X Elite reaches 45 TOP, while Intel Lunar Lake can reach up to 48 TOP. total, AMD currently has the most powerful NPU in the general consumer PC sector, and while it’s true that this doesn’t give it much of an advantage, it does give it a touch of prestige compared to its competitors.
Its official launch hasn’t happened yet, but David Huang had early access to these new APUs and shared performance data and information about Ryzen AI 9 365 and Ryzen AI 9 HX 370two models that will play a very important role in the general consumer market.
The Ryzen AI 9 365 has a 10-core CPU configuration that is split into two CCD units. The first one has quad-core Zen 5 it runs at a maximum of 5 GHz in turbo mode and has 16 MB of L3 cache. The second CCD unit has six core Zen 5c with 8 MB L3 cache and works at an average speed of 3.3 GHz 10 cores and 20 threads.
The Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 has a 12-core CPU configuration, also split into two CCD units. The first one has quad-core Zen 5 it runs at a maximum of 5.1GHz and has 16MB of L3 cache, and the other has eight Zen 5c cores running at an average of 3.4 GHz, which also have 8 MB of L3 cache. Totally has 12 cores and 24 threads.
In the attached pictures you can see all the data and the results of the comparison perfectly detailed. For example, these results indicate that Zen 5 has a relative performance improvement of up to 22% compared to Zen 4 and 9.7% increase in estimated CPI in CPU SPEC.
The article that David Huang published is very comprehensive and contains important details at the architectural level, where he touches on topics such as cache latency, inter-core synchronization, and inter-core latency and bandwidth. In his conclusions, he emphasizes that the differences presented by the Ryzen AI 300 will be very significant compared to Ryzen 9000 desktop, due to the use of Zen 5c cores and the changes it brings at the architectural level.
The performance test you shared is quite extensive, but unfortunately We do not have details about its other componentsare not NPU or GPU focused performance tests. We know that the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU will have an RDNA 3.5+ GPU with 1,024 shaders (16 CU) and that the Ryzen AI 9 365 APU will have an RDNA 3.5+ GPU with 768 shaders (12 CU), so both go so you can move current games at 1080p, although it is clear that the former will be much more powerful.
