Sharp is launching three multifunctional A4 printers: the BP-C542WD, BP-C533WD and the BP-C533WR. The printers are most at home in small, hybrid office spaces.
The IT provider Sharp is expanding its range of office printers with three new A4 models. These include the BP-C542WD, BP-C533WD and the BP-C533WR. According to the manufacturer, the printers are designed for use in small, hybrid office spaces. This can happen in an SME, but also in a specific department of a large company.
The printers are controlled with a 7-inch touchscreen. We see many of the features found on Sharp’s A3 printers, but in a more compact form. A button in the main menu takes you directly to the Easy Scan feature, a contextual scanning menu that allows users to quickly access the most important scanning settings.
Another notable feature is the built-in integration with Microsoft Teams, OneDrive and Google Drive. This allows employees to securely scan documents and send them to their Teams channels or print them directly from Teams. Sharp aims to encourage collaboration from different locations with these features.
Security is also an important aspect. Printer security is all too often forgotten, says Marco van Vliet, Product Manager at Sharp Benelux. The new printers offer security options such as remote firmware updates, Bitdefender and encrypted storage. Since documents can be sent directly via the cloud, they no longer need to be stored in temporary locations, although the cloud is not 100% watertight.
Sharp also emphasizes the sustainable aspect of the printers. The printers are partly made of recycled plastic and have a low overall power consumption value. In activated mode, the printer consumes up to 35 percent less energy, and in sleep mode up to seventy percent, thanks in part to the ink toners with a lower melting temperature. We can definitely welcome these decisions, even if sustainability should not be more than the norm.
Sharp is confident that its printers meet the needs of modern businesses. With the advent of hybrid working, the modern working world has changed: workstations are often smaller and more flexible.
