If you want to make a phone call, you use the Android phone app, if you want to make a WhatsApp call, you use WhatsApp. If you want to make a WhatsApp call to a number that is no longer saved in your phone book, this can be a bit of a hassle.
Here is the solution that WhatsApp has found and has been in the works for several months: include your own phone dialer. It is a shortcut for making voice calls to WhatsApp numbers, whether they are in your contacts or not.
Request Call someone on WhatsApp? If this person is in your contact book, all you have to do is go to the calls tab, press the floating button and select the person from the list. If the person is not in the list, the process is complicated: you first need to add him to your contacts or open a regular chat first.
Now WhatsApp enables a new way to do this: with your own phone dialer. The innovation is already reaching some WhatsApp beta users as an additional floating button in the tab Searches.
WhatsApp phone dialer is just like any other dialer and gives you an old-fashioned way to make calls: typing the phone number. After typing the full number, we can see whether that number is WhatsApp or not. If you have WhatsApp, we can initiate a voice call or message by pressing the message button to the left of the call button.
This phone dialer offers us a way make WhatsApp calls to strangers or numbers we have not saved in the phone book. If we want to call a business via WhatsApp rather than a “normal” call, this is a useful innovation as we only need to type the number without having to add it to our calendar.
