OnePlus introduces the Nord CE4 Lite: an affordable smartphone that must contain the OnePlus DNA. A high-quality screen and fast charging set the tone.
OnePlus is launching the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite: a new smartphone that is positioned at the lower end of the OnePlus portfolio. Thanks to the manageable price of 329 euros (including VAT), the device should make some typical OnePlus specifications accessible to a wider audience.
Well-equipped screen
The OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite has a 6.67-inch screen with 1,080 x 2,400 pixels, good for an aspect ratio of 20:9. OnePlus opted for an OLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Under the screen is a mid-range SoC from Qualcomm: the Snapdragon 695 5G. This is supported by 8 GB of RAM. Storage is limited to 256 GB.
Fast charging (for those who buy extra)
OnePlus invests where it stands out: in the screen, but certainly also in the battery. It has a capacity of 5,110 mAh and can be charged with an 80-watt fast charger. Unfortunately, this charger is not included and uses proprietary SuperVooc technology, so you won’t get the speed of other USB-C chargers. OnePlus supplies a cable (USB-A to USB-C).
The OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite has the same Battery health engine on board like the Oppo Reno 11F. This ensures that the battery still has 80 percent of its original capacity after 1,600 charging cycles. That’s about double what is still the industry standard today. Even more striking is the ability to reverse charge via USB Type-C at five watts. This should be useful for charging accessories such as wireless headphones.
Do you still have wired headphones? OnePlus provides a 3.5 mm audio jack in this device.

OnePlus offers a corresponding camera on the front with a 50MP sensor and optical image stabilization. The second camera on the back houses a 2MP depth sensor and we believe it is there mainly because a single camera circle can look a bit old-fashioned these days. OnePlus places a 16MP selfie camera on the front.
We list the most important specifications:
Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G
8GB LPDDR4X RAM
256GB UFS 2.2 storage
5,110 mAh battery (80 watt fast charge)
6.67-inch screen (OLED, 1,080 x 2,400 pixels)
Main camera: 50 MP, iOS; f/1.8
Selfie camera: 16 MP, f/2.4
Android 14
IP54
Acceptable compromises
OnePlus makes several interesting considerations for this device. The OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite has key specs that match more premium devices and that make this phone quite relevant on paper. Still, this phone is not without compromises, which is of course necessary to keep the price at 329 euros.
The manufacturer reduces the price by saving on less visible parts. For example, the RAM and storage use older technology and the USB Type-C port only supports the slow USB 2.0 standard.
We also see cutbacks in the update policy and think that’s a shame. OnePlus only guarantees two years of Android updates and three years of security updates. In other words, just like the Oppo Reno 11F, you get a device with a battery life that is longer than the software. Within three years of purchase, you get a smartphone that is still functional but no longer guaranteed to be secure.
So this cheap phone has its drawbacks. However, for 329 euros you can buy a nice device with a good battery, high-resolution OLED screen and a decent main camera. That will be enough for many.
