Following the launch of the facelifted Audi Q8 last year, nine months later Audi has added two new flagship models to its range, one of which is the new RS Q8 and the other is the RS Q8 Performance. The latter broke the Nürburgring lap record with a time of 7 minutes 36.698 seconds on the North Loop.
Both models are powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine. The standard version of the RS Q8 received a maximum power of 592 liters and a maximum torque of 800 Nm. The maximum speed of the vehicle, which can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
The Audi RS Q8 Performance has a maximum power of 632 liters and a maximum torque of 850 Nm. It takes only 3.6 seconds to reach 100 kilometers per hour, and the maximum speed can reach 280 km/h. It is also reportedly the most powerful production fuel engine in Audi history. Additionally, the RS Q8 Performance is equipped with a special exhaust system for an even more powerful sound.
Both RS Q8s are equipped with an 8-speed transmission and Audi’s proprietary Quattro all-wheel drive system. At the same time, in the standard configuration, the vehicle is equipped with a mechanical center differential and adaptive air suspension, and the height of the suspension can be adjusted by 90 mm.
In order for the massive body to have excellent handling, Audi equipped the body with an electromechanical active roll stabilization system, which can effectively lower the body and improve cornering performance. The standard version of the RS Q8 is equipped with 420 mm front brake discs and 370 mm rear brake discs with 10-piston calipers. The standard configuration of the RS Q8 Performance includes carbon ceramic brake discs with a diameter of 440 mm at the front and 370 mm at the rear.
The starting price of the standard version of the RS Q8 is 141,900 euros, while the price of the RS Q8 Performance is 155,700 euros.
