Motorola unveils its latest foldable Razr phones. The Razr 50 Ultra and Razr 50 are sure to appeal to fans of larger external displays.

Motorola is launching new foldable phones in the Benelux. Like last year, Motorola is betting on two models. With the Razr 50 Ultra, Motorola is pulling out all the stops, while the Razr 50 brings foldable phones at a more “affordable” price. This term is relative for a device that costs 899.99 euros.

The Razr devices are similar in shape to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, although Motorola believes it executes the foldable phone concept better. The Razr 50’s external cover screen is larger. The Razr 50 Ultra even has the “largest external screen in its class” at four inches, Motorola proudly proclaims. In fact, the too-small cover display was a critical point with the first generations of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip phones.

Colorful through life

As if the foldable design didn’t make the Razr 50 stand out enough, Motorola has gotten creative. The Razr 50 is available in gray, beige or orange.

The Razr 50 Ultra has a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, while Motorola uses a MediaTek Dimensity 7300X for the Razr 50. The Razr 50 has a 4200 mAh battery that charges at 30 W. The Ultra model has a smaller battery (4000 mAh), but Motorola compensates for this with faster charging (45 W).

Both versions have a dual camera setup, although the composition is different. The Razr 50 Ultra has a 50MP telephoto lens for zooming in, while the Razr 50 has a 13MP wide-angle lens. Both devices have a 50MP main camera and a 32MP front camera, and by making good use of the foldable design, the main camera can also be used as a selfie camera.

Finally, Razr 50 Ultra and Razr 50 also share the Hello UI software.
