Microsoft and Proximus are entering into a five-year strategic partnership. Digital communication, cloud and generative AI are the three core ingredients.
Proximus announces that it has agreed to a strategic collaboration with Microsoft. Both companies are doing this with full conviction, as they are now entering into a five-year commitment. The new partnership will allow both companies to leverage their expertise and products using AI applications and solutions.
Digital communication, cloud and AI
The collaboration focuses on two technology areas:
- Communication and digital identity: The collaboration will drive the development of communication platform services. Proximus will take into account the expertise of its subsidiaries Telesign and Route Mobile in the field of CPaaS and digital identity, supported by BICS’ global networks.
- Cloud and AI: Proximus will migrate its main platforms to Microsoft’s Azure cloud services. Of course, Microsoft’s GenAI offering cannot be left out either.
Proximus is also strengthening its position as an authorized reseller of Microsoft services.
No strangers
Microsoft and Proximus are no strangers to each other. Since 2022, they have been jointly developing a sovereign cloud offering, with Proximus being the extension for companies that want to sign up with Microsoft but keep their data in Belgium. With the new partnership, Microsoft and Proximus are further deepening their relationship.
“This strategic partnership confirms Microsoft and Proximus’ shared vision when it comes to harnessing the power of innovation through cloud applications and AI. Our combined strengths will drive technological innovation for the benefit of our partners, customers and society as a whole,” said Marijke Schroos, General Manager for Microsoft in the Benelux.
