Undoubtedly, one of the pillars of Xbox’s business strategy is ubiquityand the truth is that it is a very intelligent strategy. So much so that although it was eventually cancelled, those at Redmond worked for a while on a project of what was called the Xbox Series Cloud, a console focused exclusively on cloud gaming. In the end, the project was scrapped and until now we have not been able to learn more about this device.

If the “pocket console” did not eventually become a reality, doesn’t mean Microsoft has given up on potentially universal reach, which provides its cloud gaming platform. On the contrary, recently we have seen how Microsoft has been working very actively to bring the Xbox Cloud to more and more devices where its deployment is completely natural, such as Samsung TVs.

This is what some have already called the post-console model, and it consists in the fact that we can enjoy practically all the functions that these devices offer us. without having to have one of them. And while we now know that there will be a next-gen Xbox, and that it also promises to stand out in its tech department, before said confirmation, speculation has been rife as to whether the next generation of Microsoft’s console will actually be your cloud gaming platform.

Be that as it may, the Xbox subscription service has already been proven to be a great success, and of course we must not forget that the cloud gaming platform is an important part of it. To extend its reach, we know today Xbox Cloud is finally coming to Amazon’s Fire TV Stickso users of this economical and recommended gadget, which for many (good) reasons is among the most used devices of this type.

This is an important milestone as it stands jump to a device type in which it has not yet occurredalthough to maximize its success, Microsoft should consider whether to keep the Xbox Cloud exclusively in the Game Pass Ultimate mode, or instead start offering it as a standalone service, making it much more interesting for non-console or PC users, and therefore, they are not interested in subscribing to a catalog of titles to play locally.
